Hey Mark,

It’s great to hear from you! I’m glad you liked the new tunes. Actually, we were just in the studio last weekend recording some more (i.e. newer new tunes). Those should be available here soon so stay tuned.

Keep on the good foot,

Hey Brad,
Nice tunes! Reeel nice. Sounds like 2V1 has really taken shape. And Philip rips! Not bad for a guy with a day gig!

Thanks for this blog, too. I'm still the aspiring jazzer on the ivories so every little bit helps =)
See you soon hopefully and keep up the great work!

thank you for the website....I took music theory over 4-5 years ago and I still get lost I go thru it again and again...till it sink in. I appreciate the scales I practice it on the jazz guitar so that i know what it sounds like...the key is the most important when playing !

Daniel,

I enjoyed your article about the 12-note scale. I didn’t have plans to write about the ratios, but it is a good idea, so let me know if you do. ;)

I have some more in-depth information about the reasoning behind the equal-tempered scale at:

http://mclaury.blogspot.com/2006/06/why-are-there-twelve-notes-per-octave.html

In that article I take the ratios for the perfect fifth and fourth and major and minor third as given, but they are of course derived from the overtone series. I was planning on writing up something like that, but if you're gonna cover it, just let me know and I'll just throw up a link to you instead :)
